HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Bestgift Comprehensive college is an off-shoot of Bestgift Nursery/Primary school which was born in September 1999. It was registered as a corporate body with registration number LAZ 135199 on the 3rd of December 2002.
BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BESTGIFT SCHOOL
In view of the excellent performance of Nursery and Primary school with increasing patronage of parents and guardians, the vision to run a college along side of Nursery/Primary school was conceived, thus the desire for a post-primary institution to cater for the excellent products from our Primary school was welcome idea as our ultimate goal was broadened to include nurturing credible and viable materials for tertiary education. In September 2003 the college took off with J.S.S. ONE, got its government approval in 2010.
Today, owing to the tireless devotion to duty by staff of the college in conjunction with dynamic leadership of the school, the college has grown to maturity with classes running from J.S.S.1-J.S.S.3 & S.S.1-S.S.3. The college was approved by Lagos State government the centre of Excellency to start registration students to write the WAEC/SSCE, NECO and since then Bestgift school has been recording best result in S.S.C.E, NECO Examination Result and winning in some of Education competition in Lagos such as Work it out, Take a Step and Entrepreneurship.

SELF EVALUATION PROCESSES
The self- evaluation processes of the school is affected through the supervision, monitoring and directives from the following bodies
The views, criticism and demands of our students through the SRC are very important in tackling the school’s positive criticism and effecting positive changes to meet not only their needs but demands of other stakeholders.
Parents/Teachers Association (PTA)
The school has a working P.T.A whose meetings are convened once every term. This is to enable the school to rob minds with parents and teachers so as to draw from the assessment, criticism and commendation of the policies and programmes of the school and how they are being implemented for the welfare of the parents and teachers and to maintain healthy school business relationship.
Inspectors From The Ministry of Education
SELF EVALUATION PROCESSES
The school authority takes seriously findings, criticism, and recommendations from inspectors from the State and Local Government Education Offices. Also, directives from the education policymakers received from time to time will be duly implemented. In this vein, the findings and the recommendations of the external education quality assurance team intermittently visiting the school form the hub of our continuous modus operandi.
School Board Management Committee (SBMC)
Based on directive from the external education quality assurance team, the above named body is on wheel as the board is composed of the following:
- 1. The Chairman/Director of Bestgift schools
- 2. The Administrator
- 3. The Chairman of P.T.A
- 4. A Chief/Community Leader in Ijegun Community where the school is situated.
- 5. A number of parents whose children are currently in the in School
- 6. The Principal of the school.
LONG TERM DEVELOPMENT PLAN OF THE SCHOOL
The future development plan of the school can be summarized as follows:
1. In the next ten years, the school plans to embark on the development of the school infrastructure/equipment in line with the highest standards obtainable in international schools as world-class.
2. In line with our mission and vision, we are poised to produce successful scholars such that in the next ten years our products will be every field of human Endeavour all over the country and world at large.
THE WAY FORWARD
The future development plan of the school can be summarized as follows:
1. In the next ten years, the school plans to embark on the development of the school infrastructure/equipment in line with the highest standards obtainable in international schools as world-class.
2. In line with our mission and vision, we are poised to produce successful scholars such that in the next ten years our products will be every field of human Endeavour all over the country and world at large. Bestgift in line with the school development plan, school self- Evaluation, and school Reports will continue to key instruments of our school-based management structure.
3. The school accommodates criticisms, evaluation, and recommendations of stakeholders, parents, teachers, community members, and policy and from the ministry of education.
4. The management of the school relies its operation on the vision and mission of the founders of the school.
5. Our goals will be in line with the prevailing situation in the education sector and the standards dictated by the education policymakers and other stakeholders as well as technological advancement.
6. The school will continuously work on the short-term goals and long terms goals with a view to eventually achieving the long terms goals pro-rata.
7. The needs of the school will be identified from time to time based on reports from our self-evaluation processes.
8. A scale of preference determining which needs demand priority attention is followed
9. Actions and programs are mapped out weekly, monthly, termly and yearly basis.
In conclusion, our future development plans are reviewed from time to time as a result of implementing the plans and observing the differences they have made.
